Project SEED Funded for 10 Students in Summer 2010 |

Thanks to a grant from the Omnova Foundation, in addition to major support from the national ACS Project SEED office, stipends for 10 Project SEED studends has been awarded to the Akron Section.
Project SEED provides stipends to disadvantaged high school students to engage in 10 weeks of mentored research in an academic or indistrial research lab. The research mentors donate their time, and the host institutions provide access to their research facilities. This year, 2 projects will be at Kent State University in addition to 8 projects on the University of Akron Campus. Of these, 5 are for first-time SEED students ("Summer I") and 5 are for returning students (Summer II").
