November 2017 Meeting - Akron Section Award

The Akron Section of the American Chemical Society has conferred its Akron Section Award on Christopher Jaroniec, Evans Professor of Chemistry at The Ohio State University and Director of Ohio State’s Solid-State NMR Center. Dr. Jaroniec will deliver an afternoon lecture at The University of Akron and give another talk during the evening program at Hiram College on November 14. The award will be presented during the evening program.  Dinner reservations are due by November 10.


October 2017 General Meeting

The October General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Papa Joe's Restaurant. Mark Foster, Professor of Polymer Science at the University of Akron will speak on What’s on the Surface? New Insights in Polymer Blend Surface Behavior Using Surface Layer MALDI ToF Mass Spectrometry. Dinner reservations are due by Friday, October 20, 2017. RSVP to Walter Salamant w_salamant@yahoo.com.

May 2016 General Meeting

The May general meeting will be held on Wed., May 11, 2016 at Papa Joe's Restaurant. Dr. Yu Zhu of The University of Akron will speak on his research. Dinner reservations are due by noon on Friday, May 6.

2016 April Meeting - Crano Lecture

Dr. Ivan Dmochowski of the University of Pennsylvania will be the 2016 Crano Memorial Lecturer. The afternoon lecture will be held at 1:45 pm in 111 Mary Gladwin Hall at The University of Akron. The evening program will be held at the Courtyard Mariott in North Canton. Both will be held on April 28. Dinner reservations must be made by noon on April 25.

March 2016 General Meeting

Our March general meeting will be held on Wed. March 16 at Papa Joe's Restaurant (1561 Akron Peninsula Rd., Akron, OH 44313). Dr. Robert Medsker, Director of R&D at Avery Dennison will be our featured speaker. Dinner reservations are required and must be made by noon on Fri. March 11. The program is free and open to the public.
