Adjunct Chemistry Instructor at Hiram College

Hiram College’s School of Science and Technology invites applicants for a one-semester adjunct faculty position in chemistry beginning January 2020.

Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation is routine. The College’s distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester for a 3-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship or research experience. The incumbent will have the knowledge in chemistry and the skill necessary to teach the second-semester lecture course in a two-semester undergraduate organic chemistry sequence. The candidate will be responsible for the preparation and assessment of all course material. In addition, the candidate is expected to maintain weekly office hours on campus. Qualified applicants should hold a M.S. or Ph.D. in chemistry (ABD near completion will be considered). Teaching experience is preferred.
