The Akron section of the ACS is accepting nominations for the Crano Memorial Lecture Award. Every April the Akron ACS hosts our annual Crano Memorial Lecture, where we present an award to an outstanding chemistry professional that has distinguished themselves in their field. In contrast to the ACS Award, which is awarded to a promising young scientist every November, the Crano Memorial Lecture is awarded to an established chemistry professional.
This award is presented at our general meeting in April and consists of a $500 honorarium and an engraved plaque. As part of the acceptance of this award, the awardee is asked to deliver two lectures in Akron. One lecture, given during the day at the University of Akron, is typically geared towards a more technical audience, while the evening lecture is held at a second venue and geared towards a more general audience. Nominations should include a CV along with a letter of recommendation and should be sent to Dr. Charles M. Kausch (email@example.com) by Monday, February 5, 2018.
